A fortnight of turmoil and angst in the Warriors has resulted one of their best performances of the season.

They've responded to a heavy loss to Canberra, player departures and rumours of rifts with a 30-16 win over the Broncos at Mount Smart Stadium.

Coach Andrew McFadden says it's a win they needed mentally.

"We haven't had a lot of luck," he said. "To play our style of footy you need combinations and player understanding."

"We have had some changes and it is a balance that we try and get. It is our way. That's something that we've got to get every week."

The Cowboys have smashed the Knights 46-16, while the Storm have defeated the Panthers 24-6.
