Noel Gallagher is ending a dreadful year on an encouraging note. On December 31, the former Oasis singer and his band the High Flying Birds shared the demo version of a new song called "We're Gonna Get There In The End" after teasing its release on social media.
“Firstly let me wish everyone a Happy New Year,” Gallagher began a lengthy message to fans. “Things can only get better from here!! (saying that, they couldn’t get much worse could they?!) Anyway I’ve been writing and noodling recently and I’ve made a little demo of a tune that I wrote a couple of weeks ago and it actually came out sounding pretty good … the lyrics are quite apt for the times and I think I’d like to share it with you. The song is called ‘We’re Gonna Get There In The End’. Hope your hangovers aren’t too horrific. Hopefully we’ll catch up soon. PS. IT’S ONLY A DEMO. ONWARDS.”

Earlier this year, Gallagher came out as anti-mask, proclaiming that if he contracts COVID-19 it's on him.
“There’s too many f***ing liberties being taken away from us now,” he declared at the time.
“I choose not to wear [a mask] and if I get the virus it’s on me, it’s not on anyone else. If every other c**t’s wearing a mask I’m not gonna catch it off them, and If I’ve got it then they’re not gonna catch it off me. I think it’s a piss take.”
