The All Blacks have swept the main gongs at the annual New Zealand Rugby awards in Auckland.

The back to back world champions have been crowned team of the year for a fifth year in a row, while departing midfielder Ma'a Nonu's picked up player of the year.

Head coach Steve Hansen was also named coach of the year for the fourth straight time.

Speaking via video from his new home in France, Nonu thanked his former teammates, coaches and NZ Rugby management.

"I'd like to thank Tew and the staff at the NZRU for this massive opportunity, I've reall been humbled and grateful to be part of the All Blacks the NZRU and representing my country."

Highlanders first-five Lima Sopoaga picked up Super Rugby player of the year, while former All Black George Moala was awarded ITM Cup player of the year.
