Brendon McCullum is not fading from the cricket scene just yet.

He may inherit a new "Bazooka" moniker after smashing 42 from 24 balls to set the tone for the Gujaret Lions successful run chase against the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL.

McCullum plundered two sixes and five fours at the top of the innings before Dinesh Karthik smoothed an unbeaten 50 from 39 balls to find the 180 run victory target with three balls to spare.

India's batting star Virat Kohli produced another epic innings for Bangalore with an unbeaten century from 63 balls to give the Bangalore suppoorters belief they could topple the competition frontrunners.

Kiwi pace bowlers Mitchell McClenaghan and Tim Southee restricted the Delhi Daredevils early but JP Duminy clipped an unbeaten 49 to set Mumbai a target of 164 from their 20 overs.

In Reply Mumbai opener Rohit Sharma picked up a quick 63 before he was run out as Delhi's attack took a tighter hold and claimed a six run victory.
