Penguins Score Late To Take First Blood Vs Sharks In Stanley Cup Final

Third line center Nick Bonino scored with under three minutes left in the 3rd period to break a 2-2 tie and help the Pittsburgh Penguins to a Game 1 win in the Stanley Cup Final.

Each team dominated a period with the Penguins in control of the 1st Period taking a 2-0 lead into the intermission which was countered by a 2nd period domination by the Sharks.Â
The game was tied at 2-2 as it entered the final period and as things looked set to go to Sudden Death overtime, Nick Bonino scored from a Kris Letang pass to put the Penguins in front for good.

Pittsburgh survived a late Power Play opportunity by San Jose and held on for a 3-2 win.
