Sonny Bill Williams has given his World Cup medal to a boy, 14-year-old Charlie Lines, who ran onto the field following the All Blacks' victory in Twickenham.

The All Black said he felt sorry for the boy, who was tackled by a security guard after charging the field.

Former Wallabies fullback Matthew Burke told Tony Veitch he had nothing but praise for the New Zealand player.

"Sometimes the shy guys, the quiet guys, are perhaps perceived as maybe sort of arrogant, a bit up themselves. But what we can see from this guy, he's incredibly genuine."
